OUr App

Our user-friendly app allows operators to cut shapes in several different ways. They can:

  • Draw any design freehand
  • Import any 2-D image to make unique shapes like hearts or clovers, or an image as complex as a city skyline
  • Use any standard shapes like triangles, squares, circles, and spirals and maximize yield through the Tessellation Module, which intelligently nests the shapes to minimize waste
  • Cut round cakes into equal slices

Katana is equipped with a conveyor that eliminates lost time for loading and unloading. It also integrates into automated production lines, and allows for cutting even while the product is in motion.

 

VISION SYSTEM

Katana is also available with a vision system that identifies the exact position and size of the incoming baked goods. Regardless of occasional upstream irregularities, Katana will give a perfect cut, every time.


 

3-D SCULPTING

Is water retained in the product?

No, the amount of water used is negligible and the speed of the waterjet is so high that virtually no water is absorbed.

Is the water safe to use?

Our current installations all use potable water sources, ensuring that the system is 100% safe. If the water source near you is not potable, Katana can easily integrate with a water treatment system to ensure the highest safety.

How fast can it go?

Speed varies on the shape, density, and temperature of the product, but Katana can reach speeds of up to 3000 mm/sec, the fastest cutting rate on the market today.

How long does it take to switch from running one program to another?

It takes less than two minutes inside the app, including the download time to the robot.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Electric Supply Because Katana is shipped worldwide, we customize its electric connection to match our customers' specifications.

Compressed Air Filtered, 5.5 bar, 23 L/min consumption

Water Katana is intended for use in places where water is potable and is not subject to either microbial, bacterial, or chemical impurities. 

  • A sample of the customer's water should be sent to our plant for analysis. In the event that your source is not fully compliant, we will provide you with the appropriate water treatment protocol to ensure the safe operation of the waterjet system.

  • A heavy-duty stainless steel frame, fitted with adjustable floor levelers
  • One ABB IRB-140 6-axis robot
  • Robot programming pendant for the robot with support for multiple languages
  • A highly flexible water delivery harness that provides an exceptional range of motion
